“I love all of the work DDB is doing – while I realize that there remains so much to be done, DDB has directed the attention of so many in the nation to the realities of life on a chain. I know your journey has been hard, but your courage has started a revolution.” — Clova Abrahamson

  2. Tamira, you are a wonderful person! I loved reading your letter and that is exactly how I feel! Everynight when I go to bed with my best friend Buddy beside me I think about all the pathetic freezing dogs who are outside and cannot imagine how people can be so inhumane as to leave a dog outside! They have to be horribly, mean and hateful people to do that to a dog who only wants to love and please his owner! Thanks to you something is being done and you have saved so many animals! Hat off to you! I pray people will keep on caring and something is finally being done to help these poor dogs! I know that in the country people think nothing of keeping their dogs outside chained and in a doghouse! They have to be stupid to think that is right! I just do not understand it. When I was in Ohio years ago visiting my sister her neighbor had two dogs outside in doghouses and I saw that when the owner came home the dogs were so happy and were barking or attention and the owner just walked in the house! Years ago I think it was accepted to leave dogs outside! Thank God for people like you who are trying to help all these helpless innocent creatures being left outside! Love to hear stories like this! God Bless you Tamira!

  3. Tamira, you are truly an angel. First of all, I want to thank you for all that you are doing. I am in a situation presently, where I have to see a neighbor’s dog live its entire life on the end of a chain. I have tried tirelessly to help that poor dog by calling PETA, taking pictures, and on and on. To no avail. As it turns out, when PETA sends a person to inspect (they also send a vet the same time they send a representative), they are required to have a member of law enforcement meet them there. Well, several days ahead of the meeting (at the property of the chained dog), the time and date were set up for law to meet representative and veterinarian out there. Then, on the day that they got there, things were totally cleaned up and totally different than they had been for months and months. Mind you, these people not only mis-treat this dog, but also pigs, roosters, and goats. So, the law had tipped them off so that they could clean things up. But my husband and I know this will not remain, as these people are just not of the mentality to take proper care of animals. Again, thank you for all that you do!!!!

    1. I’m sorry, Allyson. That is unfortunately how it usually goes. When it gets bad again, and IF you can see that they are breaking the law, post the pics on FB and try to get lots of people calling on their behalf. It’s sad, but something we have to keep fighting for.
